Performs liaison duties with associated court personnel and system stakeholders to facilitate alternatives to detention, court hearings, professional assessment, intake and case planning. Assists the Corrections Coordinator as lead for supervision officers providing case management to juvenile clients with Juvenile Field Services (JFS) & Home Based Services (HBS). Advocates for and expedites the release of eligible youth from secure detention, the Juvenile Residential Facility (JRF) and facilitates alternative to detention placement.

Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in corrections or human services organizations working with youth and families. Professional references documenting the years of related work experience are required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice or a related field. Transcript verifying education credits is required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Personal passenger vehicle for use (mileage reimbursement is provided by County). Pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screens. Must also meet the required conditions contained in KSA 65-516 and KAR 28-4-356(d), (1-5).
