Scouring is the process of removing any sizing, grease or dirt from fibres in order to improve the amount and even uptake of the dye.

A mordant is a substance that acts as a chemical bridge between the dye and fabric. A high percentage of the art and science in natural dyeing is based on the use of mordants.

The chemical compounds of leaves, flowers, bark, roots, seeds or fruits that will become colour in our dye liquor needs to be extracted.

Immersion Dyeing is possibly the most widely used method of dyeing textiles. Basically, the dye is dissolved in enough water to immerse the fibres till the desired colour has been achieved.
